Which polish should I use?

Which polish you should use depends on the condition of your paintwork. You can measure this with apaint thickness gauge. A car with original paintwork measures between 100 and 150 microns. Cars with a solid colour measure around 70 to 80. We recommend polishing the car from 80 Ω. Anything below 80 means the paintwork is too thin and can no longer be polished. The only option you have then is to have your car repainted.

When do I use the Ultimate paste?

Is your car's paint severely damaged with scratches or paint defects? Then it's most likely that you need to use a hard or extremepolishing pad. You use this with a hard paste in combination with arotary polishing machine, but it can also be used with our Dual Action.

The coarse grit in Stipt Polish Paste Ultimate removes extreme scratches, overspray, and paint defects. You are literally polishing away the first layer of your paintwork. This will create holograms, which you will remove in the subsequent steps of polishing. So don't be alarmed if streaks appear; that's exactly what should happen.

Have you finished removing the severe damage mentioned above? Then you proceed with a medium pad in combination with the Ultimate paste. With Stipt Polish Paste Soft, you can refine this further.

When do I use the Soft paste?

You refine your paintwork with Stipt Polish Paste Soft in combination with a soft pad. This polish with a fine grit ensures that the last small scratches and imperfections disappear from your car's paintwork.

Always refine with an eccentric machine. Because as we mentioned earlier: First remove the damage and then work on the gloss level. Do this with our (Mini) Dual Action.
