The good weather is coming again, which means you'll want to wash your car more often, for example, in a car wash bay. With the step-by-step plan below, we'll give you the best tips to make your car look factory new again. We'll take you through it from A-Z. This includes:
- Cleaning the rims
- Removing insects
- Cleaning the paintwork
- Claying the paintwork
- Drying the paintwork
- Cleaning the windows
- Applying paint sealant
- Cleaning the interior
Step-by-step plan for washing your car in a car wash bay
The most important thing is that your car is not in the sun. Also, make sure it has cooled down before you start cleaning your car.
Step 1: Start by cleaning the rims
Your car's rims collect a lot of dirt and dust and therefore get dirty quickly. The best way to clean them is by using one of our rim cleaners:
- Stipt Real Effective Cleaner (for alloy wheels)
- Stipt Iron Remover (for powder-coated, polished, chrome wheels, or recently painted wheels)
Fill a bucket with clean water; you can even bring this from home using your Stipt Grit Bucket 20L in combination with the Stipt Grit Bucket Seal. Mist the rim with Stipt Real Effective Cleaner or Stipt Iron Remover, depending on the type of rim. Then wet the Stipt Detail Brush and thoroughly brush the edges of the rim. For larger areas, you can use the Stipt Wheel Brush, Stipt Wheel Towel, or Stipt Wash Sponge. Once you have thoroughly brushed the rim, you can rinse it with the high-pressure sprayer.
Step 2: Remove flies and other insects
When the weather has been nice, you'll find many insects on the front of your car. To prevent them from burning into the paint, spray them with our Stipt Anti-Insect. Thanks to its protein-breaking properties, you can effortlessly remove insects without damaging the paintwork. Clean the sprayed surface using the Stipt Anti-Insect Wool Mitt. Then rinse the car with water. Please note, this cannot be used for wrapped or matte cars.
Step 3: Cleaning the paintwork
Now that the insects have been removed, you can clean the rest of the paintwork. We recommend starting by pre-foaming your car using our pre-wash: Stipt Dirt Foam. Once the entire car is covered with Stipt Dirt Foam, it's important to wash the car using the Stipt Wash Glove in combination with Stipt Wax Shampoo, Stipt Perfect Shampoo, or Stipt Advanced Shampoo. When washing, make sure you work from top to bottom using rotating motions. Once you've done this, you can rinse the car.
Step 4: Time to clay your car
Now that your car's paintwork has been largely cleaned, we're going to make it mirror-smooth. We do this by claying the car. All stubborn dirt, such as tree sap and tar spots, will be removed by our clay towel, the Stipt 3D Clay Towel. Add a splash of Stipt Perfect Shampoo to the Stipt Grit Bucket 20L and submerge the Stipt 3D Clay Towel in it. Make sure the Stipt 3D Clay Towel is thoroughly wet and clay the paintwork. You can also add one splash of Stipt Perfect Shampoo to the wet Stipt 3D Clay Towel for an excellent result.
Step 5: Rinse and dry
Now that your car's exterior has been washed, you can rinse it with the high-pressure sprayer and then spray it with Stipt Ceramic Wax for extra protection. After washing the car, dry it with a professional drying towel, preferably the Stipt Dry Towel XXL, Stipt Giant Dry Towel, Stipt King Dry Towel, or the Stipt Car Blower. Again, work in sections and from top to bottom.
Step 6: Make your windows shine again
Nothing is more annoying than dirty windows. That's why you can easily wash your windows yourself in a car wash bay using our window cleaners. Mist the window(s) with Stipt Clear Glass and wipe them dry with our Stipt Glass Towel. This special drying towel also lightly polishes your windows. Please note: the Stipt Glass Towel is only for glass surfaces, so DO NOT use it on paintwork.
Step 7: Apply paint sealant for extra protection
After cleaning, you can apply a paint sealant. You'll find various products in our range. Read here how you can apply paint sealant yourself.
Step 8: Time for the interior
Now that your car's exterior is factory new again, we'll tackle the interior. You can clean your car's interior without using water, which is convenient for a car wash bay. You can use our Stipt 1 Cleaner in combination with the Stipt Dry Towel. This is perfect for cleaning your vehicle's interior with just one product! Mist the Stipt 1 Cleaner onto the surface to be cleaned and then polish it with the Stipt Dry Towel in combination with the Stipt Interior Detail Brush.
